My second stay - I really recommend this hotel. A lovely building nicely updated. Well managed by efficient young staff. Excellent food, both in the restaurant and at breakfast.

The bedroom allocated to us was lovely. So different from your usual square, uniform hotels rooms. The wide corridors and peaceful atmosphere were very relaxing. Breakfast was excellent and the staff superb. A really nice experience!

This is a striking building very sensitively updated. The hotel is stylish without being pretentious. The food is excellent and the staff efficient and pleasant.

    Fabulous

the location of the hotel across the road from Bradford Interchange train station cannot be better. The restaurant is very pleasant and so is the bar. Very comfortable room too.

I would have loved it if there was an indoor swimming pool!

    Superb

Fantastic experience at the Great Victoria! I fell for this place as soon as I stepped through the revolving doors. Magical. A real touch of old world charm and sense of history, with modern, comfortable rooms and friendly, professional staff. Gets the balance just right and can't be faulted. Huge bathroom, amazing bathtub, dreamy big bed, cool calm interiors, all very elegant and relaxing. Surprised at how quiet it was for the centre of town and right next to the railway/bus staion. Excellent value for money if booking last minute online. Perfect for an overnight or weekend stay. I didn't order breakfast, but there are cafes and coffee shops nearby if you'd rather not pay hotel prices. Having read a previous review about dangerous windows, just a word of advice...this is a Victorian building that does needs some investment cash to restore the windows to their former glory. My room (301) was fitted with a modern window and curtains/blinds which neatly "hid" the original outside frame from view. There was no problem to open and close the window, but maybe rooms with older frames can be problematic? If you are concerned, I guess check when booking. Remember that this hotel was built 144 years ago, so whilst everything still works well, naturally over time things need updating. So come on Tomahawk Hotel Group, give the Great Victoria the TLC it deserves! All in all, if you're staying in Bradford, you won't find a more delightful place to rest your head. Now looking to find an excuse to go back...those beds are heavenly and loved sweeping down the art deco staircase. Even if its raining and cold outside, you'll always feel warm and welcomed at at this hotel.

    Having to leave!

Great location in the centre of Bradford right next to the Interchange. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Very minor niggle but the tv image was poor.

Delightful Victorian hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. The meals were very tasty with plenty on your plate. The room we had was excellent, very clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Would certainly stop there again.

    No complaints

I booked three luxury rooms for seven nights for a family holiday at the Great Victoria Hotel at Bradford in July. All of the rooms were large with a desk and armchairs or settee. Breakfast menu was extensive with Yorkshire full breakfast and vegetarian options. We enjoyed one evening meal but did not return to the hotel restaurant as the menu remained the same throughout our stay. However there was plenty of alternative restaurants in the city. The hotel is adjacent to the Interchange with local and national rail and bus connections. There is ample car parking that is adjacent to the hotel.

    Superb

A very comfortable hotel, right in the centre of the city and opposite the main railway station. Old-fashioned in the best way, keeping its spacious Victorian style without being fussy, it was exceptionally good for the price. Staff were great - we stayed on the very hot weekend at the end of September, and found they had put a fan on in our room during the day to help cool it down! Breakfast was excellent with more than usual choice.

I booked the special promotional rate for a short business trip to Bradford. I was travelling by train and so chose the hotel because of it's location close to the railway station but also at the very centre of Bradford. I had stayed at this Victorian hotel once before over 30 years ago but the hotel is now much more luxurious and stylish with spacious rooms with all modern facilities. The hotel staff I came into contact with were smart, friendly and attentive.

The waiter who took our breakfast order was very clear and well spoken and offered to modify slightly what was available as part of the vegetarian breakfast.

1.Charge of £50 in addition to the cost of the room which is supposed to be refunded: not mentioned until we got there. 2.The room was incredibly hot and the window was painted shut, the blinds in the bathroom did not work and the window in there was also very stiff. 3.No water available in the room to drink- should be complimentary, not £6 a bottle. 4.The shower switched itself off after just 4minutes- and then it started and stopped for about 10 minutes whilst I still had shampoo on my hair. 5.I asked for my eggs to be well cooked, they weren't.

They have very friendly and helpful staff, the location is elegant and parking is secure. The rooms are very comfortable, with a kettle, decor is simple and the food is very good. They are constantly improving and renovating with no inconvenience to guests.
